Movies Will Now Release In Single Screens


The fight is now in its 6th week.. No Hindi movie has released in multiplexes or single theaters since April 4. Even after rounds of meetings the two parties could not reach a consensus on revenue sharing possibilities; each blaming one another.

So finally some of the big producers of Bollywood movies, have come up and decided to release all small and big films on single screens, non multiplex theaters across India. With no other solution becoming, this seems to be the last resort to keep the audiences happy. They will even market their own movies.

Come May 29, and as many as six films are being lined up. Each week will see a new movie starting with Kal Kissne Dekha. Films like New York, Love Aaj Kal, Jashn and Kaminey will follow soon.

Although producers are eager to release movies at the earliest, they hope to see July as a turning point. They are anxious to release major blockbusters, mega-budget and big star cast movies so that the industry heaves a sigh of relief in an already depressed market.

Multiplexes are also in talks of coming teaming up and creating a war chest of $8 million in order to acquire new films and distribute them on their own….
