Mandira Bedi: Stunner In A Saree


She is a TV throng and a very hot, infectiously vivacious cricket loving lady who changed the way cricket was looked at. The first lady of cricket, Mandira entered an arena that was once only gentleman’s domain. In the 2003 Cricket World Cup, with co-presenter Charu Sharma, she came across as the eye candy and a highly stylized persona that was vital in attracting, engaging and expanding the audience base for cricket viewing in India. Her noodle strap blouses and designer sarees brought a lot of pizzazz to the game of cricket.

Her attire may have made more news than her opinions on cricket, but that never fazed Mandira. She knew she loved the game and that connected with her audience. Today, she has outlasted most of the male presenters.

Before cricket happened, Mandira was already a household name with the character of Shanti that she played in the hit serial aired on Doordarshan. She also played the villain in much popular Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Much to her modeling assignments as well, she bagged silver screen with her role as a supporting actress in the blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Although Bollywood was not really a big bang, but she did a few roles here and there including her husband Raj Kaushal’s Shaadi Ka Ladoo, Manmadan(Tamil), Dus Kahaniyan and MeeraBai Not Out. Between cricket and films she has been doing a lot of theatre, apart from being a popular face with Indian producers….
