Dil mein mere aaj kya hai– that this Mumbai based DJ is hip and happening. Shake it daddy– He is none other than Aqeel Ali aka DJ Aqeel.
DJ Aqeel, an artist who’s redefined the term DJ/ Producer in the last decade and is going stronger by the second and rocking the dancefloors around the globe. Spinning started about 10 years ago when he saw a friend in Hong Kong trying her hand at deejaying. Thinking it to be easy, he started doing it on his own.
Today, he can very well be the poster boy of the Indian party circuit. He has toured over 40 countries worldwide and currently even owns prominent nightspots. He has the credit of introducing the concept of International SuperClubs to India. His brand POISON (Mumbai and Hyderabad) and a VIP club under the brand BLING (Mumbai). He’s given the world some of the best remixes since his debut album Shake it Daddy where he mixed the classic Nahin Nahin and Keh Du Tumhe.
He then introduced the first ever Record Label owned by a DJ in the country under the brand PowerPlay Records with hit track Wada Karo along being associated with some of the biggest Bollywood Movie’s official remixes.
Part of the crème de la crème of the party circuits, he has a huge fan follwing right from the Bachchan’s (he was the official DJ at the Abhi-Rai wedding), Godrejs, Hindujas, Shahrukh Khan, Vijay Malya, Hrithik Roshan and many more, DJ Aqeel has played with Adnan Sami, Shaan, Sivamani, Daler Mehandi, Sukhbir, Jay Sean and Outlandish.
He is the Pied Piper of music lovers. Having established a global fan base with his fusion remixes of Bollywood music with sounds from around the world, he has a very innovative style.
